Basketball COVID Action Plan & Safety Guidelines

WHEN PLAYING BASKETBALL FOR A HUNTINGDON VALLEY TEAM, IT IS ESSENTIAL THAT EVERYONE FOLLOW OUR COVID SAFETY PROTOCOLS.  HVAA EXPECTS EVERYONE TO ADHERE TO THESE POLICIES AT ALL TIMES:

 

FOLLOW THE COVID & SAFETY POLICIES DURING GAMES, TOURNAMENTS, AND PRACTICES: 

  • Everyone, including all coaches, players, and game officials, will be wearing masks in the gymnasium and facility at ALL times.  
  • Everyone, including all coaches, players, and game officials, will wear masks while entering and exiting the premises.
  • Everyone must practice social distancing and shall position themselves at a minimum of 6 feet from other each other.
  • There is a "No Spectator Policy" for our In-House "3 on 3" Basketball Tournaments.
  • Any parent/guardian that is approved to volunteer at the "3 on 3" Basketball Tournaments must wear their masks at ALL times. 
  • Parents/guardians/spectators must follow the limited spectator policies and/or no spectator policy in place for HVAA Travel Basketball games, tournaments, and practices.
  • All parents/guardians will adhere to the indoor spectator limits per the gymnasium/facility/program requirements.
  • Only players, coaches, and referrees are permitted permitted on the court.

 

REQUIRED HEALTH & SAFETY SELF SCREENING CHECKS:

You are responsible for following:

  • You or your child feels sick or has any symptoms of COVID that you shall not attend the practice or game.
  • You or your child who has had close contact with a person known to have COVID within the past 14 days should not attend the event. 
  • All people planning to be on site should bring their own face coverings and hand sanitizer. 
  • Every effort must be made to consistently social distance at least 6 feet from those outside of their immediate household. 
  • Anyone feeling sick should leave the facility immediately and go home or seek a healthcare facility. 

With the latest guidance, HVAA Coaches will not be taking temperature checks prior to every game/practice. However, if a coach suspects that a child may be ill and/or displaying symptoms, he or she can request for the player to get a temperature check.
