Separate Leagues at all levels for Boys and Girls
BANTAMS (K & 1st Grade) - The purpose at this age is to teach the basics of basketball. Each weekly session is played Saturday mornings and taught by an experienced trainer.
STARS AGES (2nd and 3rd Grade) - In this league scores are kept but standings are not recorded. Emphasis is still on fundamentals at this level. Games are played on weekends at the Red Lion gym or Murray Avenue multipurpose room on 10 foot baskets and a "junior" (27.5 inch) ball. There will be a weekly practice and weekly game.
The final format of Junior, Intermediate and Senior leagues will be based on number of registrations per age group. To the extent possible, no more than two age groups will be competing in the same league.
JUNIORS – This league corresponds to children in the 4th through 5th grades. At this level, scores and standings are kept with playoffs. Games are usually played at Red Lion gym or Murray Avenue big gym on regulation 10 foot baskets. Games are usually on Saturday and Sunday afternoons.
INTERMEDIATE - This league typically is for children in the 6th through 8th grades . This league is played on regulation baskets at the Murray Avenue big gym and Red Lion gym. Games with playoffs are usually on Saturday and Sunday afternoons.
SENIOR - This league corresponds to children in 9th through 12th grades. This league is played at Lower Moreland High School and games with playoffs are usually on Sunday afternoons or early Sunday evenings.
