Huntingdon Valley Travel Team Information
One may ask " Why would a player wish to join a Travel Team?" A player joins for several reasons:

1. A higher level of Qualified Coaching Staff.

2. Higher level of Competition.

3. Opportunity to be selected for a League Select Team.

4. Compete in County & State Cup play.

5. Improve skills for High School and College play.

To join a Travel Team at any age level, Under 8 through Under 15, a player must attend one try-out out of three that are held (there are cases where only 2 try outs are held due to field or gym space limitations). The selection process is under the direction of the Coaching Staff at each of the appropriate age levels. This process is required to gauge the skills of those players who wish to participate at that age level. Although, excellence in skills is important during the try outs, the Huntingdon Valley Activities Association wishes to emphasize that the individuals motivation, team play, attitude, and a commitment to Soccer, Baseball or Basketball are important parts in the selection process.

The appointment of a player to a Travel Team means that the player has been selected over another player. From the very beginning the Travel Team Program provides a competitive atmosphere. Therefore, it must be emphasized that team commitment is expected from all the players selected. This commitment includes the acceptance of responsibilities of a player to attend all practices and all games.

Travel Team rosters are open until the middle of the particular sports season and players may be added. Player can be dropped at any time during the season.

Travel Team players are not guaranteed any playing time. The Coaching Staff is expected to distribute playing time apropriately to facilitate the individual players development and field a competitive team.
